BITS Incubator Program

On 10 April 2000, the Federal Government Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts announced the establishment of 10 incubator sites to help entrepreneurs turn their technology and ideas into successful and competitive businesses under the Building on Information Technology Strengths (BITS) program.

The BITS Incubators provide an environment where entrepreneurial companies can obtain seed funding and develop the essential business management skills and systems that enable them to grow.

Who are the Incubators?

The ten Incubators are:

Australian Distributed Incubator - Emerge Multistate
Allen and Buckeridge Seed Stage Ventures - NSW and VIC
InQbator - QLD
Entrepreneurs in Residence -WA
Playford Capital - SA
Epicorp - ACT
Original IT Investments Pty Ltd - NT
